Debit Card Activation
To activate your First Class debit card and customize your PIN, call 1-800-717-4923.
- Please have your card and SSN available before you call.
- You may also activate your card by using it at an ATM first, however your PIN will not carry over, so you need to call the number above to customize your PIN.
Fraud Text Alerts

Members with a First Class debit card are automatically enrolled to receive fraud-related text alerts.
- If fraud is suspected on your card, you will receive a text message from the number 72718.
- The text message you receive will be similar to the following: “FreeMsg:SHAZAM FraudAlert <randomized toll-free number>: Did you use card <account_last_4_digits> at <merchant_name> for $<transaction_amount>? If valid reply YES, if not NO, STOP to OptOut of Fraud Alerts”.
Fraud Calls
Members with suspected fraud on their debit card may also receive a call from SHAZAM if you do not respond to the text or have opted out of texts. If the automated system places a voice call to a cardholder, and a person answers the call, the automated system starts the following interactive voice response script:
“This is the fraud prevention department at SHAZAM calling for First Class Community Credit Union. We need to verify some recent activity on your debit card ending in <last four digits of card>. Please listen carefully and confirm that the following transaction was made by you, or another person authorized to use your card. If this transaction was authorized by you or someone authorized to use your card, press 1. If you do not recognize this transaction, press 3.”
