Reflecting On 100 Years of First Class: Craig Doster

Craig Doster

After retiring from the U.S.P.S., Craig Doster was inspired to continue serving his community. “I read in the credit union newsletter about becoming a board member, reached out to a current member, and thought it would be a great opportunity to serve,” he recalls.

Craig was elected to the board in 2013 and has served on the audit and credit committees. Today, he holds the role of board president. Among his proudest contributions are helping hire the current CEO and guiding the credit union through the challenges of the COVID era alongside management and fellow board members.

He notes that the board has always kept the credit union’s mission front and center: “Former and current board members have always kept our mission of people helping people to our member-owners.” During COVID, this commitment was evident when fees were suspended for members and flexible work arrangements were provided for employees.

Craig believes the credit union stands out for its services, products, and accessibility. “Our 24-hour call center and great physical locations offer a major benefit,” he says.

Through his leadership, Craig exemplifies the credit union’s values of service, community, and member-first focus.
